Katie Ann Simmonds

Hi, My name is Katie Ann Simmonds, I was born in High Wycombe hospital and lived there with my parent Neil Edward Simmonds and Michelle Ann Simmonds (was Vaughan). And then after a year we moved to Maidenhead when my mum was pregnant with my brother Benjamin Alexander Simmonds. I went to Courthouse Junior School and then onto Newlands Girls School. My parents split when I was in Junior School and my Dad went to live in Sheffield and then met Denise Baker and moved to Blackpool where she lived and moved into a house togehter with her two sons, Kieran Baker and Callum Baker. At the end of school I decided to go and live with my Dad and go to Blackpool Sixth Form College where I have had to do 3 years instead of 2, in my first year I had to retake my English GCSE and do a GCSE Art course and I have now gone onto doing Photography, Graphic Design and BTEC Business in my first year of A Levels. 

 

I love Photography, Interior Design and Musicals and am currently volunteering at a place called St Oswalds Dramatists which is a musical theatre society for children up to 18 where they do 1 main show a year in April, so far I have worked on Jekyll and Hyde and Oklahoma, and then they do a show during the summer holidays for a week where the show is set all in that week, which i have helped on one called 'Muscial Madness'. They also do LAMDA exams which are acting pieces with 1 to 2 songs in them which they do in a group and they can do solo pieces which get prepared seperately, so far I have helped with the younger kids of the society doing The Jungle Book and Matilda. I am hoping to go onto Sheffield and Hallam University to do a 3 year degree in Photography. My photographs are always different, I dont really have a style of working, I like portraits alot and I love taking photographs of my dogs, but I also like taking photos linked to musical theatre.

 

I have experience with taking photographs for other people as I took Photographs for St Oswalds 20th aniversary, which was then put onto the poster and program to advertise the show.
